I’ve been in the financial planning industry for more than 13 years, but my career actually started in a very different place. After graduating from Penn State, I became an elementary school teacher. I loved teaching and figuring out how each person learns best, especially how to take something that feels complicated and make it easier to understand.
That same mindset is a big part of how I work with clients today. As I started learning about finance, I realized how little we’re actually taught about something that impacts our lives every day. I remember thinking that if I could learn and understand it, I could help other people understand it too. That felt like a worthwhile reason to make a career change.
Today, one of my favorite parts of financial planning is taking a complex situation and putting the pieces together in a way that feels simple and manageable. Finances can feel overwhelming, and major decisions like retirement can come with a lot of uncertainty. I enjoy helping clients understand their options, create a plan they feel confident in, and ultimately use their money to accomplish the things that are important to them.
I still think of myself as an educator in many ways. I never want a client to feel like they need to understand financial jargon or know all the right questions to ask before coming to me. My job is to listen, understand what they want their life to look like, and help them put the pieces together to get there.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, yoga, going to concerts, and spending time with my husband, Tony, our son, Maverick, and our two cats. We’re fortunate to have both of our families close by and spend a lot of time together. Some of our favorite places to vacation are Stone Harbor and the Outer Banks. I’m also a longtime volunteer with Make-A-Wish and have been involved with CATRA and the American Heart Association. And as a Penn State grad, I love all things PSU and Philly sports.
I hold FINRA Series 6, 63, 65, and 26 registrations, as well as Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses.
